FOUNDERS AND CHEFS
Before opening Kitchen Catering and Events, Gabe and Morgan spent 17 years in many roles in a variety of restaurants in both Charlottesville, Va and Asheville, NC. This experience and their ability to think comprehensively about all aspects of an event allows them to execute a flawless event for each client.
Morgan, a Charlottesville native, has a great passion for the south and its food; however, she also loves to prepare the light summery dishes of the Mediterranean.
Gabe, a native of Mexico City, has a love for all things roasted, braised and sauced. He is a lover of French food and, of course, the food of his native Mexico.
They both love to play with food, and to try new dishes from around the globe, and, together, they create dishes that pair with any desire a client may express.
Kitchen Catering and Events is a family-owned and operated, full-service catering company located in Charlottesville VA. Our mission is to provide our clients with high quality food and exceptional service. We work closely with each client to ensure a successful event that represents their individual vision, creating a menu specific to them and their occasion, and helping to outline all the details for their big day. Our wedding catering team is super dedicated and attentive to detail. Our captain and event coordinator, Lydia Koon, is on-site to make sure everything is going according to plan and to ensure that the bride and groom are taken care of on their big day. Lydia leads a friendly and experienced staff at all events and each staff member is more than happy to help in any way possible.
We offer a variety of styles of dinner services including buffet, plated, heavy hors d’oeuvres and stationed, while trying our best to adhere to the budget allowed. Kitchen Catering and Events’ mission for wedding catering is to ensure our brides and grooms have a fantastic time with all of their family and friends, enjoying great food and exceptional service, while knowing that their every need is being met.
Kitchen Catering and Event’s chefs have experience cooking a broad variety of American and International cuisines. We try to incorporate this aspect into all of our events, giving our clients ample dishes to choose from, and working with each client to create one of a kind, individualized menus. From an authentic Mexican taco bar to a Mediterranean feast, the Kitchen Catering and Events team will guide you wherever your taste buds lead!
Charlottesville is also home to Thomas Jefferson’s home, Monticello, and the University of Virginia, where many events take place. Kitchen Catering and Events is honored to be a preferred vendor at these and other beautiful venues across the city and county, including the scenic vineyards of the region.
PRIVATE & CORPORATE
We work with clients on a wide variety of events, including: weddings, rehearsal dinners, family reunions, graduations and funerals. If you have an event for which you need food and/or service, consider calling Kitchen Catering and Events to help your day run smoothly.
This might be our favorite part of the job! We love sitting down with our future clients to get to know them, and to learn as much as we can to help them build a menu that they will be excited to share with family, friends and colleagues; a menu that will reflect their personalities.
We have versatile menus to choose from, and also really love creating new dishes, but we realize that sometimes the classics are just what are needed. While adventurous dishes and fun appetizers are on our lists so, too, are the classics like Virginia ham biscuits and cheese straws. We treat every event as if it were our own, and always use as many fresh, local ingredients as possible.
